Mission
The mission of The Blessing Haus is simple: to make professional mental health services accessible to Missionaries and International Workers, regardless of one's ability to pay.
Vision
At The Blessing Haus, we envision a world where International Workers are able to receive the services they need to continue carrying out the work they’re called to.
Our vision is to remove barriers to health, encouraging individuals to thrive with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. Our vision is to see IW’s be healthier in relationships and in their communities, serving out of freedom and love.
We see a world where IW’s are more resistant to burnout and stress. We see a world where the pressures and pains experienced on the field, are pressures that bring families closer together instead of pushing apart.
About
The Blessing Haus is based in Kandern, Germany, a beautiful town in an ideal location. A 30-minute drive from the Basel airport, Kandern is home to Black Forest Academy and also serves as a major hub for many International Worker companies. The Blessing Haus has been offering services since 2021, primarily to local International Workers but also some IW’s s throughout Europe.
The Blessing Haus is still in development, and at this time is not a legally recognized business in Germany. Clients can still expect professional services typical of a mental health practice in the States such as strict confidentiality, typical intake paper for informed consent, and adherence to the code of ethics of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). The Blessing Haus strives to abide by standards of both HIPAA (USA) and GDPR (Europe). The primary implications of The Blessing Haus not being a recognized business are that clients 1) are not able to receive a bill for services or 2) receive a diagnosis recognized as valid by other health professionals in Germany. However, services are free, so no bill is needed for insurance reimbursement of Blessing Haus services.
Currently there is one primary clinician with The Blessing Haus, with a second clinician having very limited availability. However, referrals and recommendations are available upon request.
